Reporting to the Greater Montreal Regional Director, you will have the following responsibilities:
Support and development of the team of volunteers:
- Oversee volunteer recruitment, onboarding, recognition, and mobilization
- Support the implementation of training for volunteers
- Set up and coordinate committees or work groups
- Coordinate accompaniment actions (pairing, activities, major parties, etc.)
- Supervise and support the team’s volunteers in their respective commitments
Relationship and intervention with elders:
- Carry out follow-ups with accompanied elders in certain specific cases
- Develop alternative means of support to meet their various needs
- Work in collaboration with various players in the health and/or community sectors to ensure that the elders receive the necessary services
- Initiate wellness requests/dreams of seniors as needed and follow up
Representation and development of external relations:
- Promote the organization and its mission in your area
- Develop and maintain relationships with local partners (residences/homes, social workers, nonprofit organizations, etc.) to increase the referral of isolated elders and volunteers
- Make sure to establish lasting partnerships with the various partners in the community and health sectors
- Participate in consultation tables for elders in the area served
- Take part in various development projects in the area served
You are our candidate if you have the following:
- College diploma (DCS) in a field related to community service or another relevant discipline
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position and at least 2 years in management and coordination of a team of volunteers
- Fluent in English and French, both orally and in writing
- Sensitivity to the conditions and needs of elderly people and especially in connection with vulnerable elderly people
- Autonomy and initiative
- Strong organizational, planning and multitasking skills
- Great communication and facilitation skills
- Openness to work a flexible schedule (occasional evenings and weekends as well as major holidays such as Christmas and Easter)
- Owns a car and a valid driver’s license (travel within your area is required)
We are offering:
- A permanent position at 5 days/week (35 hours/week)
- A flexible schedule and a hybrid work model (remote and office work)
- Four weeks of vacation after one year
- An additional day off on your birthday
- Paid leave between Christmas and New Year’s Day, from December 24 to January 3
