Mission and Community Impact
All of the proceeds from La Boutique go to Little Brothers to help them reach out to lonely seniors across the province.
GOOD DEEDS, GREAT OUTCOMES
The generosity of our donors and the volunteers who run La Boutique has a ripple effect on the entire community. They are the heart and soul of this labour of love.
IMPACT IN THE COMMUNITY
La Boutique at 1380 Gilford Street is a thrift shop that gives second-hand items a new life. Through La Boutique, we:
- Collect and redistribute gently used goods
- Offer affordable items to our shoppers, especially those in need
- Support a variety of social integration initiatives
- Allow volunteers the chance to give back to the community
- Help create a forever family for more than 1,200 lonely seniors in Quebec.
At La Boutique, we are committed to helping others and protecting our environment.
COLLECTIVE WELL-BEING
“One day an Elder Friend asked us to find him a new suit so he could look nice for the Christmas party. Ever since then, he is proud to get dressed up whenever he has the opportunity.”
– Sylvie, Senior support worker
Our Elder Friends shop free of charge at La Boutique for items to improve their quality of life. With this handy resource, they can find warm boots for cold weather, brighten a room with an attractive ornament, pick up a little something special to lift their spirits or fill an empty suitcase for an upcoming stay at our vacation lodge in Oka.
La Boutique is a wonderful neighbourhood institution. Many of our volunteers and customers know each other. People feel welcome here because the volunteers love what they do and it shows. We often hear how enjoyable it is to spend time at La Boutique is and how friendly everyone is.
Some of our other Little Brothers chapters throughout the province have set up small shops to sell donated clothing in their communities. Everything we receive from the public is deeply appreciated and makes a big difference for our Elder Friends.
DON’T NEED IT ANYMORE? SOMEBODY ELSE MIGHT!
Not only will your donated goods have an impact on the lives of isolated seniors, they are an excellent way to give back to the community and do your part for the planet.
